Last week, I had a grand time talking with Desmond Reddick of Dread Media. Listen in as Des and I ramble on about horror movies, being weird in high school, story influences, and more! Plus, there's some cool music. If the link doesn't work for you, check out the Dread Media Archives and look for podcast #152.
Here's the link!
"So this is radioland, huh? The infinite waves through the interfuzz roll on forever... ROOOAAARRRRR! Can't close that. Hi! I know what you're thinking, huh, this is weird but I can handle it... You're my fave."
-Choptop, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2
“Hola, amigos. I know it's been a long time since I rapped at ya, but I been puttin' out fires left and right.”
-Jim Anchower, The ONION
I figured it was about time for a new blog.
I’ve been busy.
So this blog is more of a preview of coming attractions.
I just stumbled over this review in Publishers Weekly.
Can't say it's exactly positive, but I gotta admit at least it's accurate...
Here's me, reading from the first chapter of Foodchain.
We started this website as a way to promote my books, sure. Not even gonna pretend otherwise. But I thought it would also be a good way to meet some folks, answer questions, trade book and movie recommendations, that sort of thing.
Man, I had a good week. No, scratch that. I had a GREAT week.
My book was officially released on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. It didn’t have the splash of a traditional book launch, things were a bit more low-key, but this week was more of a celebration of generally being a writer.
It was also Story Week for the Fiction Department at Columbia College Chicago, where I teach. So I got to meet some wonderful writers and hear some truly amazing writing.
Look, I don’t know much about music. All I can really say is that you gotta go with what moves you, and this kind of stuff moves me.
If you’re in Chicago on Monday, March 15th, and find yourself in the mood for some:
VIOLENCE! FOUL LANGUAGE! NUDITY! (Well, at least on the page…)
